Lions Project Pride

Lions Project Pride is a program offered by Canadian Lions Clubs.  Lions Clubs choose to participate and by doing so will express to their community the pride the club has in Canada and in being a Lion.

This is done by presenting a Canadian Flag that is12 cm by 24 cm (5" x 10") and a certificate to each grade one student in the community. The certificate describes the diversity of our country and the pride we have in being Canadian.  From Coast to Coast; our Lions pride is expressed by contacting school officials requesting permission to visit schools, to visit with classroom teachers, and most importantly to present students with a flag. The opportunity to visit with a group of Grade One students is a special reward.  Lions from British Columbia to Newfoundland are distributing over 40,000 flags every year. We have had very favourable comments from students, teachers and parents.

The Strathmore Lions Club has participated in Lions Project Pride since June of 1998.  The Club presents flags and certificates to all Grade One students in all the Town of Strathmore schools.  These flags are presented to students at the end of June as part of the year ending activities.

The certificates are printed with each student’s name and the date of presentation.  The wording on the certificate consists of:               Lions Project Pride
