Lifeline

Lifeline is a personal response service that ensures subscribers get prompt assistance whenever help is needed – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year whenever a help call comes in from a subscriber.  Monitoring staff at Lifeline Response Centre assess the situation and stay on the line until help arrives.

Strathmore Lions became a Satellite Program for Bethany Lifeline in 2000.  Since that time members of the Strathmore Lions have volunteered their time assisting members of the community, mostly seniors, by installing lifeline units in their homes.

Benefits of the program include the following:

  1. Allows seniors and patients to live independently and confidently in their homes.
  2. Provides peace of mind for family members.
  3. Help is available 24 hours 7 days a week.
  4. Early intervention means a quicker and greater chance of recovery.
  5. Provides safer hospital discharges and post discharge support.
  6. Lifeline is not just for emergencies.  It is access to ongoing support and reassurance.

Lifeline is more than equipment.  Many volunteers participate in support of the program’s subscribers, installers and service personnel.  Members of the Strathmore Lions Club have been installing lifelines on a volunteer basis for Bethany Lifeline since 2000.  Lifeline is truly people helping people.
