Strathmore Aquatic Society Christmas Party

This festive evening has consisted of a four course meal, a bar, a D.J., dance, door prizes, numerous desserts, a chocolate fountain and a midnight lunch. The price for the evening has been $35.00 per person. This last event was sold out by mid October. Many businesses have come back year after year. A broad range of ages and interests have been evident. Many Lions and several of their wives volunteer to do the necessary work. People begin at 9:30 AM and go all day until the dance is over at 1 AM.
The most recent Christmas party earned a profit of $7,618.00. This is about the average annual profit and it has gone toward pool equipment such as baffles to reduce the sound, roll up window blinds, a hoist for handicapped and a climbing wall. All Aquatic Society earnings have added up to about a $300,000.00 Capital Building Fund located at the Town for the remaining planned phases of the pool. These include a children’s wading pool, a hot tub and a sauna. In addition other phases call for a water slide and a viewing area above the Chuck Mercer Room and the Strathmore Agricultural Society offices within the
